Having received his doctorate from Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine on the second of July 1968, Prof. He made the kanet aliyah to Israel 8 days later. He did his internship and residency at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva. (1969-1978). Meanwhile, he also performed his military service. He was on the southern front as a doctor during the Yom Kippur War. He continued his military service (miluim) as a doctor until he was 51 years old.
He chose surgery in the branch of urology. With a scholarship from Israel Cancer Research Fund in 1979, he specialized in bladder and prostate cancers at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. After doing cancer research for a short time at the Sloan Kettering Memorial Center in New York, he returned home.
In addition to his studies at Soroka Hospital's Department of Urology, he continued his academic career at Ben Gurion University. In 1984, he was appointed head of the pediatric urology department of the hospital. He received the title of professor in 1990. Following this, he managed the Urology Department of the hospital for a period of 23 years until 2012. He made important technological developments in surgeries. He also continued his research work. He set an example for the medical students he trained, dedicating himself completely to medicine and the health of the people of the southern region.
Works/Publications: More than sixty international articles have been published within the framework of his research at the Hospital and University.
In 2003, he was deemed worthy of the special award of the "Medicine and Justice in Israel" organization.
He has given many lectures on medicine, Spain, Ottomans, Ladino and Turkish Jews. Various paintings were also exhibited.
Apart from writing his autobiography, he has also published a book titled "The Doctor as Man".

He became a member of many organizations in his field (both in Israel and in the international arena) and was elected President of the Israeli Urology Association in 2007 due to his outstanding achievements and remained in this position for 3 years.
prof. After officially retiring from a long period of 40 years of practice, Kaneti continues her work as both a consultant and volunteer trainer and continues to contribute to Israeli medicine.
